Shina Kang “Take Root” Tee

Created as part of the Roots x OCAD U Artist Series, this limited-edition tee features an original design by OCAD U student artist Shina Kang, selected through a student design competition developed with Roots.

Inspired by the literal idea of roots, Kang transforms organic root forms into a graphic that brings the identities of Roots and OCAD U together. The intertwined forms reference growth, connection and the idea that creativity can continually expand outward. In her original concept, the roots subtly merge typography with natural forms, creating a shared visual language between the two institutions.

Finished on a black Roots T-shirt with a restrained OCAD U graphic at the chest and the artwork enlarged across the back.
